This Privacy Policy explains how bfyaı — built for you ("the App", "we", "our", "us") handles user data.
The App is an offline-first expense tracker. Financial data remains on your device. The App uses Google Play Billing for subscriptions and Google AdMob to display in-app advertisements.
02 Core Privacy Principle
We do not collect, store, transmit, or access your personal financial information.
This includes:
03 Permissions Used (On-Device Only)
SMS Permission (Optional)
Used to detect bank transaction SMS and automatically create expense entries. Processed entirely on your device — never uploaded or shared.
Storage / File Access (Optional)
Used to import bank statements (PDF/CSV). Files are processed locally and never uploaded.
Local App Storage
The following is stored locally on your phone only:
- Expenses and transactions
- Budgets and categories
- Settings
- App PIN
04 App Security
PIN Protection
The App provides a PIN-based app lock stored locally on your device. We do not have access to your PIN.
05 Data We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect or store any of the following:
06 Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App displays banner or native ads using Google AdMob. Paid subscribers may see reduced or limited advertisements.
AdMob may collect:
- Advertising ID
- Device info
- IP address
- App interactions
- Approximate location (via IP)

07 Payments & Subscriptions
Subscriptions are handled entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store any payment details.
08 Internet Usage
Internet access is used only for:
- Loading advertisements (AdMob)
- Verifying subscription status (Google Play)
No financial data is transmitted over the internet.
09 Third-Party Services
These services operate under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them independently.
10 Data Retention & Backup
All data is stored locally on your device. We have no access to it.
11 Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
12 User Controls
You have full control over your data. You can:
- Disable SMS or storage permissions at any time via device settings
- Reset all app data from within the App
- Opt out of personalised ads via your device's advertising settings
13 Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy in future app versions. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
